Description
For the ones who have viewed Le Pont de Senoueix in the photography gallery, you might remember that I 'post-scripted' the description with :"PS: I have planned to make a watercolour artwork using another picture of this bridge. It shall take me ages to do it as usual, so come back here 'quite soon'".
And here it is ! Took me ages indeed, roughly two weeks but it was not a full-time job : I am a bar owner/tender and paint when I have a few minutes between each customer
This very old bridge that crosses the Taurion river was built during the Gallo-Roman period. It can be found roughly 14 miles from my home in the french département of Creuse. (Still for those who viewed the picture, this description must have a 'déjà-vu' feeling)
As usual in my watercolours works, the material was :
Black indian ink: Pelikan (mainly for the bridge itself and stones)
Watercolours: Talens, Rowney-Manet
Brushes: Talens, Raphaël
Paper: Canson "Aquarelle Fontenay" (300g/m²)
A reference photo can be found here

I don't understand nothing about colours, so I won't say nothing about that, but I really like how you did the water and... I love the tree on the left! *__* and the bridge of course!
The full view is a must!
and my vote was... 9!! just because is the best I can do ^^

As mentioned you painted the water dynamics well
My two cents would be that your colouring is a bit 'isolated' and you
could mix'em up just a bit more.
Great handing of your brush

Your technique, or trick, obviously isn't based on insight in color matters or color compositions. The colors you did combine flatten the image, which is not intentional in this style, as does the dividation of contrast.
I suggest you start practicing with pre-painted grounds on your canvas, sienna or ochre for instance, that will bind your colors of the final result. Also, try to use a consistent hand-writing while painting to create a more solid look. And ofcourse, the oldest trick in the book; contrasts and saturation in the forground, softening in the background. Finally, the subject choice and implementation of it show no interest in concept what so ever.
The only thing I like about this painting are the rocks. 3/10
